From luxurious resorts to functional city hotels - new hotels are opening in Finland
In recent months, Finland has seen the opening of several new hotels and resorts, catering to both nature enthusiasts and business travelers. These accommodations combine modern design, sustainable comfort, and unique experiences in the Finnish landscape.
Unique overnight stays in nature
Ilmatar Airplane Lodge near Jyväskylä offers a unique stay in a converted SAAB 340b airplane. This extraordinary lodge accommodates up to eight guests, blending adventure with comfort.
Located beautifully by Kallavesi Lake, the Bella Lake Resort in Kuopio features 18 premium suites, many of which come with private saunas overlooking the water.
Fagerholm, a former coastal guard station near Turku, has been transformed into a lodging option for up to 30 guests. Rooms are named after local islands, reflecting the region's maritime heritage.
Focus on Northern Lights
The Arctic Nook Hotel in Northern Lapland allows guests to admire the Northern Lights through glass ceilings directly from their beds. With a strong commitment to sustainable tourism, it offers only a limited number of exclusive rooms.
Scheduled to open in November 2024, Nivunki Village in Muonio will provide luxurious glass cabins that offer a unique Arctic experience, allowing guests to gaze at the Northern Lights from their beds.
City hotels for modern travelers
In Helsinki, the Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4 presents luxurious accommodations in the central Katajanokka district. The impressive wooden architecture and high-quality furnishings of its 164 rooms create an inviting atmosphere. The hotel features a comprehensive wellness and fitness area along with a large event venue.
Additionally, CityBox Hotels Helsinki has opened in the Hakaniemi-Kallio area. With 178 rooms, including family rooms and junior suites, along with modern amenities like guest kitchens and check-in terminals, it provides a budget-friendly yet comfortable option for travelers.
Comfort and convenience at the airport
The Comfort Hotel Helsinki Airport in Vantaa offers travelers a convenient stay right next to the airport, with an indoor walkway connecting to the terminal. With various room options, including spacious family rooms, it ensures every guest finds the needed comfort.
Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport has also opened, featuring direct access to both the terminal and train station. With a modern conference center and spa facilities, it caters to both business and leisure travelers.
These new hotels are expanding the accommodation offerings in Finland, providing travelers with a wide range of options tailored to different needs and preferences.
