Octola III highlights growing demand for exclusive nature-based travel

A new luxury retreat will open in Finnish Lapland in December 2026. Octola III, located in the remote fells near Enontekiö, will offer an ultra-private Arctic experience for a maximum of six guests. Built on the site of a former radar station, the property combines wilderness, personalised service and tailor-made experiences in one of the most remote parts of Northern Europe.

Privacy and space as luxury

The retreat is designed around complete privacy. Guests will have access to a dedicated host, private chef, sauna, ice-swimming facilities and customised Arctic activities.

Situated 500 metres above sea level, the property offers panoramic views across Finland, Norway and Sweden, with excellent opportunities for Northern Lights viewing and stargazing.

Cultural experiences

A key part of the concept is its connection to Sámi culture and local traditions. Guests can explore cultural sites, visit traditional workshops and learn about reindeer herding through partnerships with local communities.

This reflects a broader trend within the luxury travel sector, where meaningful experiences and local connections are increasingly valued alongside comfort and exclusivity.

A growing premium segment in Lapland

Finnish Lapland continues to strengthen its position as a destination for high-end experiential travel. Alongside established luxury lodges and boutique properties, new concepts are emerging that focus on privacy, authenticity and personalised service.

Octola III is another example of how the region is expanding its appeal beyond traditional winter tourism and attracting travelers looking for unique Arctic experiences.

The growth of small-scale luxury concepts reflects changing traveler expectations and highlights new opportunities for premium travel programs in the Nordic region.
