What the ITB Navigator and new app mean for travel professionals

ITB Berlin has launched its digital platform for 2026, introducing the ITB Navigator and a new event app. Together, these tools aim to improve meeting preparation, targeted networking, and on-site orientation for trade visitors. Rather than a simple tech update, this marks a shift in how the ITB is meant to be used.

From chance encounters to structured meetings

The ITB Navigator allows registered participants to:

  • research other attendees in advance

  • initiate contact and schedule meetings directly

A new matchmaking feature suggests potential business partners based on profile data, supported by a relevance indicator. This increases transparency and puts stronger emphasis on well-prepared, clearly positioned profiles.

Digital support throughout the event

Launching at the end of January, the new ITB Berlin app brings together:

  • personal schedules and contacts

  • exhibitor and program information

  • digital tickets and an interactive venue map

During the event, location-based notifications highlight nearby sessions or offers, helping participants make better use of their time on site.

Implications for exhibitors and buyers

Exhibitors can use a paid lead-scanning feature to capture visitor data in real time and export contacts for follow-up across teams. This supports more structured post-fair lead management. For buyers, expectations are rising as well: meetings are increasingly focused, and preparation matters more than ever.

Digital tools like the ITB Navigator highlight a broader shift in B2B events towards preparation, focus, and relevance. This raises a wider question for many travel professionals: which formats best support which goals, from large trade fairs to more curated meeting concepts.
