Icelandair becomes new Airbus customer and buys 13 aircraft

Icelandair, Iceland's main airline, has placed an order with Airbus for 13 Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Icelandair becomes a new Airbus customer with this order. The airline plans to continue leasing four A321LRs.

The A321XLR Airbus has a particularly long range and will enable Icelandair to seize new market opportunities, reduce operating costs and support sustainability goals while providing passengers with the best cabin comfort.

The A321XLR series is the next evolutionary step of the A320neo, meeting market demands for even more range and payload. It offers 30% lower fuel burn per seat compared to competitor aircraft, as well as lower NOx emissions and less noise.
