The Norwegian coastal travel company sees strong demand for Signature voyages while continuing investments in lower-emission solutions.

Hurtigruten has reported strong financial and operational growth for 2025, driven by increasing demand for coastal voyages along Norway’s coastline and continued expansion of its Signature travel segment. The company achieved revenues of EUR 501.8 million and significantly improved its operating results compared to the previous year.

Signature voyages continue to grow

Around 222,000 guests travelled with Hurtigruten during 2025, representing continued growth across several markets. Particularly strong performance was seen in the company’s Signature voyages, which focus on fewer stops and longer stays at selected destinations along the Norwegian coast. The DACH market also developed positively, while B2B bookings increased by more than 40 percent compared to the previous year.

Investments in sustainability and hybrid technology

Hurtigruten continues to invest heavily in fleet modernisation and lower-emission operations. Over recent years, the company has invested more than EUR 150 million into upgrading its fleet. The fleet now consists of ten vessels, including four hybrid-powered ships. According to Hurtigruten, CO₂ emissions have been reduced by 29 percent since 2018. The company also continues to prioritise regional sourcing, with a large share of food and beverage products coming from suppliers along the Norwegian coast.

Sea-Zero project moves forward

Hurtigruten is also continuing its Sea-Zero initiative, which focuses on the development of future zero-emission vessels in cooperation with research partners in Norway. The company expects strong demand to continue throughout the upcoming summer season.
