Changes in the Hurtigruten fleet

The Hurtigruten Group is changing its fleet. The fleets of Hurtigruten Expeditions and Hurtigruten Norway will be adjusted. The Otto Sverdrup will be transferred to the Hurtigruten Norway fleet, while the Maud will move to Hurtigruten Expeditions.

Maud is sent from the Norwegian coast to the Arctic and Antarctic to implement the new expedition series in Patagonia's fjords. Hurtigruten says this is another step in the company's operational organisation. Hurtigruten Expeditions will thus have six ships in the future.

Until now, Otto Sverdrup belonged to Hurtigruten Expeditions and operated expedition voyages off Norway's coast from Hamburg. From 19 January 2024, the ship will be taken over by Hurtigruten Norway. The departures from Hamburg will remain unchanged and the on-board language German will also be retained. In addition to the seven mail ships, Hurtigruten Norway will in future operate two ships outside the scheduled timetable. The Trollfjord already operates on the new Spitsbergen line.
