Blue Lagoon Iceland launches new destination Highland Base Kerlingarfjöll this summer

In the Ásgarður valley on the edge of a secluded mountain range in the Central Highlands of Iceland, a new year-round destination is currently being built under the name Highland Base Kerlingarfjöll.

At the remote destination, guests will find the Highland Base Hotel with rooms, suites and luxury lodges, a range of Highland Base cabins for private or shared accommodation, a riverside campsite, the Highland Base Restaurant and Lounge with a total of 80 seats, the Highland Base Baths and a wide range of adventure activities.

With peaks more than 1,500 km high and panoramic views punctuated by the great Hofsjökull and Langjökull glaciers, Kerlingarfjöll is an adventure lover's dream. Covering almost 100 square kilometres, the Kerlingarfjöll Nature Reserve is a circular mountain range formed by a series of volcanic eruptions over 10,000 years ago.

Highland Base - Kerlingarfjöll was conceived by the design teams of Blue Lagoon Iceland, Basalt Architects and Design Group Italia.
