Passenger survey ranks Finland’s main hub among Europe’s top airports
Helsinki Airport has once again been recognized for its passenger experience. In the 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, travelers selected Finavia’s main airport as Europe’s best airport in the category of 15–25 million passengers. The award is presented by Airports Council International (ACI) and is based entirely on passenger feedback collected at airports worldwide.
Passenger feedback across the entire journey
The ASQ programme evaluates customer experience at around 400 airports in 95 countries. At Helsinki Airport, approximately 4,000 passengers are interviewed each year to assess different aspects of the travel experience.
According to the latest results, travelers increasingly value cleanliness, clear navigation and friendly service as key elements of a positive airport experience.
Continuous investment in airport services
Helsinki Airport has undergone major upgrades in recent years. Improvements include the departure hall, security control areas, arrivals hall, retail and restaurant services, parking facilities and the airport travel centre. Digital tools have also been introduced to improve passenger flow and navigation. Services such as myFlight, which offers personalised travel tips, and security waiting time forecasts help passengers move through the airport more smoothly.
A key international gateway for Finland
For Finland, Helsinki Airport plays a crucial role as the country’s main international hub, connecting the Nordic region with Europe and long-haul destinations. The repeated recognition in the ASQ awards reflects the airport’s continued focus on service quality and the overall passenger experience.
Helsinki Airport has previously won the ASQ award in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 and now again for 2025, making it one of the most consistently recognised airports in its category.
