Successful overall concept convinces at the NCSC Awards Finland
At this year's NCSC Awards Finland, Helsinki Airport was awarded Commercial Space of the Year in the category for spaces under 25,000 m². The jury particularly praised the outstanding combination of commercial offerings and excellent customer experience. "A space that all of Finland can be proud of – a high-quality offering, a well-thought-out overall concept, and a world-class user experience," the jury summarized their decision.
A strong overall experience for travelers
With over one million passengers passing through every month, the airport offers countless encounters with both international and Finnish brands. According to Nora Immonen, Director of Commercial Services at Finavia, the customer experience at Helsinki Airport ranks among the best in Europe and significantly contributes to commercial success. "We are very pleased that our efforts to position Helsinki Airport as an attractive commercial space are being recognized," Immonen stated.
Jury highlights cohesive concept
An expert jury, who personally visited all participating locations, praised the airport's consistent and seamless service concept. "The winning project offers a functional, high-quality, and memorable service package that meets the needs of a wide variety of customer groups at a high standard," said the jury.
By winning the award, Helsinki Airport qualifies for the NCSC Nordic Awards Finale in Stockholm on September 4, 2025.
Currently, the airport houses around 50 shops as well as 50 cafés and restaurants. According to a 2024 survey conducted by Taloustutkimus on behalf of Finavia, commercial partners rated their satisfaction with Finavia at 4.40 out of 5 points.
The Jumbo Shopping Centre in Vantaa also celebrated success, winning the award in the Commercial Space of the Year > 25,000 m² category.
