Finavia's pursuit of excellence is underpinned by repeated recognition of passenger satisfaction

For the second year in a row and for the fifth time in the last six years, Helsinki Airport has been named Europe's best airport in the 15-25 million passenger category. The announcement was made in a press release issued by Finavia.

The ASQ Award (Airport Service Quality), which was presented to the airport operator Finavia, is based on an annual international survey in which 400 airports in 95 countries participate.

"We are extremely honored to receive this award and proudly accept the international recognition of our efforts to provide a first-class customer experience. Our continuous efforts have contributed to a significant increase in customer satisfaction at Helsinki Airport, with the result of the 2023 ASQ survey being the best in the airport's history," commented Kimmo Mäki, CEO of Finavia.

The award is presented annually by Airports Council International (ACI), the international umbrella organization for airports, and is based on ongoing assessments of customer satisfaction and service quality.

Passengers rate a variety of service categories

During the ASQ survey, passengers rate 30 different service categories during various stages of their journey, including orientation, customer service, check-in procedures, shopping and dining. Helsinki Airport conducts around 4000 passenger interviews for the survey every year.

"I would like to express my gratitude to all Finavia employees and the entire airport community for their joint efforts to ensure a smooth travel experience for our passengers. A first-class customer journey is based on the contributions of every company and individual working at the airport," Mäki added.

Finavia has won the ASQ Award five times in the last six years and has been recognized for excellence at Helsinki Airport in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
