Helsinki Airport was voted the best airport in Europe in the 15 to 25 million passenger size category. The title is based on a survey of passengers.
Finavia is delighted with the award: "We are delighted with the award and proud that passengers have voted Helsinki Airport the best airport in Europe. Year after year Helsinki Airport is ranked among the best airports in the world," says Kimmo Mäki, CEO of Finavia.
The award is based on continuous measurement of customer satisfaction and service quality. Nearly 400 airports from 95 countries take part in the survey every year. For the survey, about 4,000 passengers are interviewed at Helsinki Airport each year; passengers rate 30 different service categories, including leadership, customer service, check-in, shopping and dining.
Finavia has renewed the airport's service and restaurant offerings in recent years as part of Helsinki Airport's extensive development program, and has also modernized the departure hall, arrivals hall and security checkpoint.
