Increased winter frequency strengthens connectivity between Benelux and Finland

Finnair has confirmed that its newly introduced Luxembourg–Helsinki route will now operate year-round, including the winter season. The connection, initially planned as a summer service, will continue beyond the seasonal schedule and see an increase in frequency during winter.

From the upcoming winter season, flights between Luxembourg and Helsinki will operate four times per week, compared to three weekly services during summer.

Strong transfer potential via Helsinki

According to Finnair, Luxembourg generates a significant volume of business and transfer traffic via Helsinki to the airline’s broader network. For Benelux-based tour operators, this development strengthens access to Finland and onward Nordic destinations.

Helsinki Airport continues to serve as a key hub for connections into Northern Europe and Lapland. The year-round schedule provides more planning stability for winter programs and reduces seasonal limitations.

Why this matters for Benelux tour operators

Reliable air access remains one of the key decision factors when developing Nordic programs. A year-round Luxembourg–Helsinki connection supports:

  • Improved accessibility for the Luxembourg market

  • More flexible winter program planning

  • Stronger hub connectivity into Finland and beyond

The increased frequency also signals Finnair’s confidence in demand from the Luxembourg region, both for leisure and transfer travel. For operators working with Benelux clients, this route enhancement adds a stable and competitive gateway into Finland.
