#NordicNews on air traffic and Finland
Finnair has been in existence for 99 years
The Finnish airline Finnair celebrated its 99th birthday on 01 November and is looking forward to its 100th anniversary next year. This makes Finnair the sixth oldest airline in the world still in operation.
From humble Nordic roots, Finnair developed into a stately airline with an excellent travel experience. Finnair made use of the Helsinki hub to connect Europe with Asia.
In 1960, Finnair was the first airline to enter the jet age with new Caravelle passenger aircraft.
The anniversary celebrations come on the heels of the airline's extensive €200 million investment in an enhanced customer experience and long-haul product. Recent enhancements include a brand new business class concept - the AirLounge - an exciting new premium economy cabin, as well as renewed service concepts and a refreshed economy class cabin.
