Finavia modernizes cloud-based data system at Finnish airports

Helsinki Airport and 19 regional airports in the country have agreed to modernize their operations with Amadeus technology, using Amadeus' airport operations platform. The cloud-based Airport Operational Database (AODB) will coordinate operations and logistics for more efficient processes. As a result, Finavia will benefit from automatic real-time updates to flight information and achieve a high level of accuracy. The Finnish airport operator hopes to better allocate resources among airport stakeholders and respond more quickly to airline and passenger needs.

The airports will implement a single cloud-based solution that is tightly integrated with airline systems to optimize airport operations. The technology handles data to manage operational teams working on refueling trucks, buses, gates or in ground handling. The conversion to Amadeus AODB is already underway and is expected to take place gradually at all 20 airports in the coming year. Thanks to the partnership, Finavia will be one of the first airport companies to run its AODB in the cloud.
