Festningshotellene enters into partnership with Strawberry (Nordic Choice Hotels)

From 22 March, Oscarsborg Fortress, Reenskaug Hotel and Kongsvinger Fortress in Norway and Torreby Castle in Sweden will enter into a strategic partnership with Nordic Choice Hotels (Strawberry). All four facilities are hotels with historical significance and in their own way part of Scandinavian history.

"We like to say that "utility is the best protection", and here guests can enjoy a visit in historic surroundings but with modern facilities and enhanced experiences. By working with a larger group, we are also making the hotels accessible to a wider audience. For us, this is an important strategic decision that gives our hotels a larger distribution network, stronger support and access to new systems," says Tony Eide, chairman and general manager of Festningshotellene.

The four fortress hotels have a total of 149 guest rooms, including flats with several bedrooms. Each of them also has unique function rooms and meeting facilities.

Nordic Choice Hotels (Strawberry) is looking forward to offering products and experiences that stand out from the crowd with the Fortress Hotels. The strong distribution platform and large customer network will make it easier to offer unique experiences. Thanks to the new merger, Strawberry, formerly Nordic Choice Hotels, wants to ensure that Norwegian and Nordic tourism businesses are further developed and secured.

There is also other news at Nordic Choice Hotels: Last year, the hotel company announced a name change to Strawberry as part of a strategic reorientation. Through new partnerships and collaborations, Strawberry is aiming for strong growth not only in its portfolio but also in the overall offer for its more than 2.3 million members. This also means new opportunities for further partnerships and different affiliations to the company. More information will be announced by Nordic Choice Hotels ahead of the name change.
