In Norway, the construction of holiday homes is booming
In Norway, around 26% more holiday homes were completed last year than in the year before - despite higher prices and interest rate increases.
However, Trond G. Hagen of the Norwegian Cottage Association foresees a decline. He says: "We think we can see that construction activity is levelling off, but there are still big projects that have been started and that will be completed in 2023. It will be interesting to watch and see what happens when the government tightens the reins."
Falling cabin prices and increased costs could lead to projects not being realised.
