Additional dates could offer alternatives for Benelux customers using Düsseldorf as their departure airport
A post by Roland Hladin, Senior Manager Touroperator Sales & Groups at Eurowings, announces extra departures to Kuusamo, Kittilä and Ivalo for winter 2026/27. The flights are described as additions to the published schedule.
Dates highlighted in the announcement
The post lists 23 and 30 December 2026 and 6 January 2027 for Kuusamo and Ivalo, with further Saturday flights to Kuusamo from 9 January to 27 February. For Kittilä, it names Tuesday flights on 29 December and 5 January, Sunday flights on 27 December, 3 and 10 January, and further Sundays from 31 January to 28 February.
A targeted opportunity for Benelux operators
Our view: these departures are most relevant where Düsseldorf is already a practical airport choice for the customer. Operators could check whether an additional date fits accommodation availability and the intended length of stay. The commercial opportunity depends on the whole journey.
Access to Düsseldorf, flight availability, destination transfers and accommodation need to work together before an extra departure becomes a saleable package.
Why we are watching this
Additional flight dates may give operators more flexibility when matching winter departures with available accommodation and activities.
