Brussels Airlines adds three Nordic winter destinations to its scheduled network
New scheduled flights to Finland and Norway
New direct flights to Kittilä, Kemi and Evenes will improve access to northern Finland and Norway during winter 2026/27.
Brussels Airlines is expanding its winter timetable with three destinations in the Arctic North. During the 2026/27 season, the airline will add Kittilä and Kemi in Finland and Evenes in Norway to its scheduled passenger network.
The expansion responds to growing demand for winter holidays in Nordic destinations. Brussels Airlines has previously served the region mainly through charter flights operated in cooperation with tour operators and travel agencies. The new services will also be available as regular scheduled flights.

Three weekly services to Kittilä
Flights between Brussels and Kittilä will operate three times a week from 10 December 2026 until 27 March 2027. Kittilä Airport is a key gateway to Levi, Ylläs and other destinations across western Finnish Lapland.
Three weekly services give tour operators more flexibility when planning arrival and departure days. In addition to conventional week-long holidays, the route supports shorter winter breaks, different travel durations and individual extensions.
Kemi and Evenes broaden the Nordic program
Kemi will be served up to twice weekly between 25 December 2026 and 10 March 2027. The route creates an additional direct gateway to Finland’s Bothnian Bay and the southwestern part of Finnish Lapland.
Flights to Evenes will operate once a week during February and March 2027. Harstad/Narvik Airport provides access to the Lofoten Islands, Vesterålen and other parts of northern Norway.
Together, the three routes add capacity to the region and create new opportunities for combined itineraries and cross-border Nordic programs.
Moving from charters into the scheduled network
Brussels Airlines will continue to cooperate with travel companies and operate charter flights to Arctic destinations alongside the new scheduled services.
Adding the destinations to the regular timetable is nevertheless a significant development. Scheduled flights can be booked independently of a specific package and combined more easily with modular travel products, different lengths of stay and connecting services.
This could make the destinations more accessible to smaller tour operators and programs designed for individual travelers.
Nordic winter routes help reduce seasonality
The expansion also supports a broader strategic objective for Brussels Airlines. Aviation demand is strongly seasonal, with summer representing the main peak. The airline is therefore adding attractive winter destinations to improve the use of aircraft and resources throughout the year.
Since winter 2024, Brussels Airlines has expanded its program to the Canary Islands and added Funchal in Madeira. Kittilä, Kemi and Evenes now introduce a new Nordic focus to its winter leisure network.
The decision indicates that Nordic winter holidays are increasingly developing into a distinct and predictable segment of the European travel market.
Why we are watching this
Adding Nordic winter destinations to a scheduled network provides greater planning security and allows tour operators to develop more flexible programs beyond conventional charter packages.
