“Chill Like a Finn” campaign promotes relaxed summer experiences

Visit Finland is highlighting the appeal of the Finnish summer with its “Chill Like a Finn” campaign. As part of the initiative, the national tourism organisation is giving away a one-week trip to Finnish Lakeland for six international couples.

The winners will travel to Finland in June 2026 and spend a week in a lakeside cottage in Europe’s largest lake district. The trip is fully funded and designed to introduce international visitors to the Finnish summer lifestyle.

Experiencing summer in the lake district

During the stay, participants will experience activities typical for the Finnish summer, including sauna sessions, boat trips, nature walks and relaxing by the lake. The program also includes visits to national parks such as Koli or Kolovesi, where guests can enjoy forest landscapes, pick berries and experience nature under the long Nordic summer days. The trip takes place during the midnight sun season, when daylight stretches late into the night.

Applying through social media

To participate, applicants must join a social media challenge by posting a short video on Instagram or TikTok explaining why they would like to experience a summer break in Finland. In addition, participants need to complete an application form on the campaign website. The deadline for applications is 29 March. With the campaign, Visit Finland aims to raise international awareness of Finnish Lakeland as a summer destination.

Finnish Lakeland also in focus for the travel trade

Finnish Lakeland is currently receiving strong attention in the international travel trade as well. On 25 March, the Visit Finland Lakeland Outdoors Online Workshop will bring destinations and suppliers from the region together with tour operators.

More information about the format and the participating suppliers can be found in our blog articles:

In addition, Visit Finland is planning a sales run in Germany & Austria in May, further promoting the Finnish lake district in key European markets.
