Viking Line and Tallink Silja resume routes between Helsinki and Stockholm

The Tallink Grupp has announced that the popular Tallinn-Stockholm ferry route will return to traffic starting on 09 July 2021 after an almost 16-month break due to border restrictions between Estonia and Sweden.

Starting on 6 July, the Viking Gabriella will be back in action on the Baltic Sea. During the summer, the Gabriella will sail along the Helsinki-Stockholm route on days when no special cruises to other destinations are planned. After the summer season, the Gabriella will offer the Stockholm-Helsinki route every other day. This was announced by the Finnish shipping company in a press release.

In the beginning, the Baltic Queen will return to Stockholm every other day with departures from Tallinn. In addition to the first official departure for the public on Friday 09 July, the company will also operate a special departure on 07 July. Partners and employees of Tallink Silja will have the opportunity to be the first on board of the Baltic Queen.

However, operations will only resume step by step, by offering departures from Tallinn and Stockholm every other day with one ship on the route. "Our vessels continue to provide sufficient opportunities for social distancing on board and we will continue with the extremely strict hygiene and disinfecting procedures on board," reassures Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp.
