Star of Tallink Silja Line to operate on the Paldiski–Kapellskär route starting in 2025

Tallink Silja Line is expanding its network and introducing the ferry Star to the passenger route between Paldiski in Estonia and Kapellskär in Sweden starting in 2025. This new connection is designed to provide an attractive and efficient alternative for both leisure and business travelers.

Direct link between Estonia and Sweden

The new route offers a direct connection between Paldiski, located approximately 50 kilometers from Tallinn, and Kapellskär, a key Swedish port northwest of Stockholm. With a travel time of about 8 hours, the route is aimed at travelers seeking a stress-free and comfortable alternative to air travel.

The Star, which has previously served the Tallinn–Helsinki route, accommodates up to 2,000 passengers and features modern design and amenities. Highlights include spacious passenger cabins, an onboard restaurant offering international and regional cuisine, a Duty-Free shop, and large lounges for relaxation.

With daily departures in both directions, the new route offers flexibility for a variety of travel plans. Whether for tourists looking to enjoy the scenic Baltic Sea or commuters and cargo customers, this connection caters to a wide range of needs.

The introduction of the Star on this route aligns with Tallink Silja's commitment to environmentally friendly shipping. The ferry is powered by LNG, significantly reducing emissions and supporting the company’s sustainability strategy.

A boost for the Baltic region

This new connection strengthens transportation links between Estonia and Sweden, contributing to the economic and tourism development of both regions.

The Paldiski–Kapellskär route will become an important part of Tallink Silja’s growing network, offering new opportunities for travelers and cargo operators. This new route represents another step in Tallink Silja's strategy to connect the Baltic region with modern and sustainable solutions.
