1 Hotels opens its first Scandinavian location in August 2025

In the heart of Copenhagen’s historic Latin Quarter, the 1 Hotel Copenhagen is set to open in August 2025. The luxury lifestyle brand is transforming the former Hotel Skt. Petri into a green sanctuary that blends Scandinavian craftsmanship with the signature biophilic design of 1 Hotels. A total of 282 rooms and suites have been redesigned using natural materials and abundant greenery, creating an urban retreat in the Danish capital.

A place committed to mindful living

The hotel is on track to receive LEED Gold and BREEAM Excellent certifications. Highlights of its sustainability approach include energy-efficient infrastructure, a rooftop herb garden, and an in-house bee hotel. From light-filled lounges to rooms with natural fabrics, city views, and rainfall showers, guests can experience true serenity in the city.

Culinary experiences inspired by Nordic nature

The restaurant Fjora, led by Michelin Green Star chef Chantelle Nicholson, focuses on seasonal, local ingredients and Nordic flavors. The bar PÆRE offers creative cocktails infused with foraged botanicals. Guests can also visit the Farmstand, an open market-style hub featuring fresh fruit and regional snacks – perfect for a quick bite or a local souvenir.

Wellness with a purpose

A 24-hour fitness center and the upcoming Bamford Wellness Spa (opening in 2026) round out the holistic offering. Emphasizing natural materials and calming treatments, the wellness spaces invite guests to slow down and reconnect.

Conscious travel without compromise

With its strong commitment to environmental responsibility, 1 Hotel Copenhagen sets a new standard for sustainable travel in Scandinavia. The building’s original structure has been adapted with minimal demolition, and the interiors feature locally sourced, recycled, or sustainable materials – including Dinesen wood, Kvadrat textiles, and limestone walls. A 3.2-meter-high living wall improves air quality and biodiversity, embodying the brand’s philosophy: luxury doesn’t have to cost the Earth.
