Starting Winter 2026: Lufthansa Launches New Direct Flights from Munich to Rovaniemi

New Direct Route: Lufthansa to Fly from Munich to Rovaniemi Starting Winter 2026

Good news for winter travelers: Lufthansa is expanding its network with a new direct route from Munich to Rovaniemi starting on December 4, 2026. The route will operate twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays, until March 26, 2027, with a flight time of approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes straight to Finnish Lapland.

Rising Demand from Germany

The new route meets growing demand: Finnish Lapland is becoming increasingly popular among German travelers. In the current winter season 2025–2026, Lufthansa Group already offers flights to Rovaniemi from several German cities, including Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Hamburg, as well as from Vienna and Zurich.

With the Munich connection, Lufthansa further strengthens the link between Central Europe and Lapland, making it even easier for travelers and tour operators to plan winter trips to northern Finland.
