New connectivity aims to transform the onboard travel experience
SAS is rolling out high-speed WiFi across its fleet, powered by Starlink’s satellite network. The upgrade delivers faster and more reliable connectivity, including on routes across northern regions.
With speeds of up to 500 Mbps, passengers can stream, work and stay connected throughout the flight. The system offers stable performance even in areas where inflight WiFi has traditionally been limited. Through a partnership with mobile operator 3, EuroBonus members can access the service free of charge. The rollout begins with the Airbus A320 fleet and will expand to additional aircraft.
The introduction of Starlink marks a step towards a more connected cabin. SAS plans to build on this with additional digital services in the future.
Reliable inflight connectivity is becoming an expected part of the travel experience, particularly for business and long-haul travelers. For airlines, it is increasingly a key factor in differentiation.
