Near Hveragerði, the new lagoon combines geothermal bathing with a Nordic bathhouse, adding another option for Iceland itineraries

Reykjaböð Hot Springs has opened at the entrance to the Reykjadalur valley, around 35 minutes by car from Reykjavík. The new nature and wellness facility expands the choice of bathing experiences in South Iceland.

Moving between warmth and cold

Its “Nordic Journey” bathing concept brings together a Kneipp pool, an infusion sauna, a cold plunge pool and the geothermal lagoon. Dining options complement the experience.

Combine bathing with an overnight stay

The neighbouring Hot Springs Lodges by The Greenhouse offer accommodation beside the lagoon. The facility is accessible year-round, and a private changing area for families and guests with accessibility requirements can be reserved in advance.

Benelux tour operators considering the experience for their programmes should check visit duration, group arrangements and booking options.

Why we are watching this

The new lagoon adds another building block for Iceland touring and wellness programmes. Its location near Reykjavík makes it a potential addition to existing routes through southwest Iceland.
