Norway's Best Group acquires Havila's stake in The Fjords and becomes sole owner
Norway's Best Group AS acquires Havila's 50 per cent share in The Fjords and becomes the sole owner. The Fjords operates five vessels - three new innovative catamarans and two old historic ferries - cruising some of Norway's most impressive fjords.
With 100 per cent ownership of The Fjords, Norway's Best will be even better placed to realise its ambitions as a national tourism company, both within land and water experiences. NBG's long-term goal is to establish more environmentally friendly destinations in Norway.
The Fjords is a company that combines the maritime industry and tourism through innovative zero-emission vessels with attractive fjord-based tourism experiences and has set a standard for sustainable travel in the western Norwegian fjord landscape.
The Fjords has received a lot of positive attention and several awards for its three innovative Vision-class ships. Two of them operate in the Nærøyfjord and the third in the Oslofjord. The company also operates two vessels in Geiranger and one in Hardanger. John Vonli, who manages the day-to-day operations of The Fjords, will continue in his role.
