Improved cross-city mobility as of 21 October

The upcoming opening of the tram line between Helsinki and Espoo marks a significant step in the cross-city connection between these two important cities. On 21 October, the 25-kilometre line will be put into operation, significantly improving public transport connections between Helsinki and Espoo.

The new tram line will not only offer an environmentally friendly mode of transport, but also provide seamless connections to metros and commuter trains in both cities. With a total of 34 stops, it will serve key locations in the region, significantly increasing mobility and accessibility for residents of both cities.

The connection includes Itäkeskus and Keilaniemi metro stations, providing an efficient and convenient way for commuters to travel between Helsinki and Espoo. In addition, stations such as Oulunkylä, Huopalahti and Leppävaara will be integrated into the transport network, further expanding connectivity.

The current bus route 550 will be replaced and discontinued by the end of the year. The exact opening details and timetables will be announced soon.
