MÖKKI 2023: Review of our online format for Finnish holiday home providers

We had the idea of developing an online format specifically for holiday home providers in Finland long before 2023, but the numerous B2B (online) events and workshops prevented us from realizing this concept. But after the positive feedback from many NORDEUROPA participants, we took the step and organized the first online sales event for holiday home suppliers from Finland and tour operators from the DACH region and the Benelux countries in September 2023 - with success!

MÖKKI 2023 in figures

Although we were aware that our target group would be smaller than at NORDEUROPA, we were quite satisfied with the outcome of our premiere event. 20 Finnish holiday home providers and 47 tour operators from 13 countries took part in the event, most of them from Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. A total of 186 meetings were held during the one-day online event. The providers came mainly from the Lakeland, followed by Helsinki Region, Lapland and the Archipelago & Coast.

At first glance, the participant ratio of 1:2 may seem unbalanced. However, experience with other online events has shown us that tour operators often only schedule certain time slots for such events and are therefore not available for meetings all day long.

Outlook for MÖKKI 2024

Nevertheless, our goal for 2024 is to increase the number of participants and, in particular, to expand the range of suppliers from Lapland and the archipelago as well as the coastal region of Finland. Tour operators who participated in MÖKKI 2023 have expressed that they would like to see a larger selection of holiday home providers overall - especially from the less well-represented regions.

Details about MÖKKI 2024

On 11. September 2024 the Online Sales Event MÖKKI will take place for the second time – this time in cooperation with Visit Finland.

The one-day event starts at 9 am and ends at 6 pm Central European Time. There will be a total of 23 time slots for one-to-one meetings, with 15 minutes per meeting followed by a five-minute break. Two coffee breaks and a lunch break are scheduled throughout the day.
