Helsinki’s new €6 million event arena offers flexible seating for 5,000 and boosts Finland’s international profile.
The new Messukeskus Arena was unveiled at the Nordic Business Forum 2025, marking a €6 million investment by the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The innovative venue is designed to enhance Finland’s standing as an international hub for major events.
Flexible design for diverse events
With a seating capacity of up to 5,000, the arena features advanced foldable seating modules that allow the transformation of the space within hours. Congresses, concerts, sports competitions, galas, and exhibitions can all be hosted under one roof.
“Messukeskus Arena enriches Helsinki’s portfolio of high-quality venues and strengthens our role as a host city for global business events, congresses, entertainment, and sports,” says Anni Vepsäläinen, CEO of Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. After its debut, the arena will host the Helsinki International Horse Show in February–March 2026.
Technology-driven flexibility
Each seating block of 361 seats unfolds row by row at the push of a button. What once took days can now be done in just hours. The modular design also allows smaller events and provides access to all onsite services, from restaurants to hotels.
Strong debut at Nordic Business Forum
With more than 7,500 participants from over 50 countries, the Nordic Business Forum provided the ideal stage for the launch. Messukeskus Arena underlines Helsinki’s ambition to be a leading international destination for conferences, business events, and large-scale entertainment.
