IHG plans to introduce its neighbourhood-inspired lifestyle brand to Stockholm in 2029
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open the first Hotel Indigo property in Sweden. The new Hotel Indigo Stockholm – Kvarnholmen is scheduled to welcome guests in 2029.
The hotel will be located in Kvarnholmen, an emerging waterfront district east of central Stockholm. The area is currently being transformed into a vibrant urban neighbourhood combining residential developments, cultural attractions and dining experiences, while offering easy access to both the city centre and the Stockholm archipelago.
The property will feature 232 rooms, a restaurant and bar, wellness facilities, meeting space and a rooftop pool with terrace. As with all Hotel Indigo hotels, the concept will be inspired by the local character and history of the surrounding neighbourhood.
The project further strengthens Stockholm’s growing portfolio of international lifestyle hotels and will provide additional accommodation options for future city-break and group travel programs.
