Responding to strong demand
Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss is responding to the continued strong demand for winter travel to Scandinavia by significantly expanding its winter flight program for the 2026/27 season. Finland, Norway and Sweden will all benefit from additional frequencies and an extended operating season.
Expanded services to Finnish Lapland
The popular destinations of Kittilä and Rovaniemi will be served from the end of November 2026, around two weeks earlier than in previous years. During the Swiss winter school holidays, Edelweiss will operate up to five weekly flights to Kittilä. Additional nonstop flights from Zurich will also be available to Ivalo and Kuusamo, further improving access to Finnish Lapland.
Increased capacity to Norway and Sweden
Northern Norway and Swedish Lapland will also see improved connectivity next winter. Tromsø will be served daily for the first time, reinforcing its position as one of the most sought-after destinations for Northern Lights experiences and winter adventures. Luleå will receive a second weekly flight during the peak season, while Bergen will also be served in February and March, extending Edelweiss' winter offering to Norway.
For Scandinavian destinations and tourism partners, the expanded program reflects the continued strong demand from the Swiss market for winter holidays in the Nordic region and provides additional capacity for the 2026/27 season. All services will operate as nonstop flights from Zurich.
The winter timetable runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. The additional flights are now available for booking via Edelweiss and the usual booking channels.
