Icelandic tour operator Arctic Adventures earns highest Vakinn recognition

Iceland’s leading adventure company, Arctic Adventures, has renewed its Vakinn accreditation, earning the prestigious Gold-Class certification in the tourism services category. The award highlights the company’s long-standing dedication to safety, sustainability, and ethical travel experiences.

Top recognition in Icelandic tourism

The Vakinn program, managed by the Icelandic Tourist Board, is the country’s official quality and environmental standard. Gold-Class status is reserved for operators that excel in:

  • Ethical and professional operations
  • Safe and respectful travel experiences
  • Environmental protection and waste reduction
  • Educating guests and staff on safety and sustainable practices

Raising the bar for responsible travel

Arctic Adventures views this achievement as motivation to keep advancing its green initiatives, including cutting emissions and expanding eco-friendly travel options. “This certification is a reflection of our shared efforts. Guests, partners, and our team all play a part in protecting Iceland’s natural treasures – and we’ll keep pushing the standards higher,” said Francois Denis, Head of Health & Safety at Arctic Adventures.
