Lappeenranta and Imatra region by Lake Saimaa is located near the Russian border only a couple of hours away from Helsinki (Helsinki-Lappeenranta 220 km). The gem of the area is Saimaa, Finland’s largest and Europe’s fourth largest lake. In the summer time the most popular activities are cruises, stand up paddling, biking,hiking and fishing. The speciality of the region are the visa-free cruises from Lappeenranta to Russia (Vyborg, St. Petersburg). In wintertime the magnificent environment can be enjoyed on husky safaris, snowshoe hikes or ski trips. The area also offers a wide range of cottages.
The distance to Helsinki is 130 km and a train will bring you to Kouvola in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. Kouvola region, belonging to the South East region of Finland, covers a wide area, there is plenty of room for everyone to live and enjoy life. A UNESCO World Heritage Site (Verla Groundwood and Board Mill), Repovesi national park with an impressive variety of summer and winter activities to offer, 450 lakes and magnificent landscapes represent the Unique Selling Points of the region. Kouvola region is the place to be for culture as well as nature lovers.
The Virtual FAM trip is a webinar in which a region or company presents its activities and services virtually via authentic, pre-produced videos. On March 4, you will have the opportunity to meet providers from Lake Saimaa and Kouvola in Finland.
The virtual FAM trip is aimed at tour operators from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium. Participation is free of charge. It is also possible for several colleagues from one company to participate in the virtual FAM trip.
To participate you only have to fill out the form below. The link to participate will be sent to you by email shortly before the virtual FAM trip takes place. In order to be able to participate in the virtual FAM trip, no software needs to be downloaded. A good Internet connection is required, as well as the ability to play sound. We recommend using Google Chrome to participate in the virtual FAM trip.
In addition to the presentations of the regions, there is also the opportunity to exchange ideas with the providers on site. As a tour operator, you can directly ask questions you have for the providers. They are connected via video and are available to answer.
