Liisanlinna is a wooden castle situated on the shore of Temmesjoki in Liminka. In autumn 2000, the entrepreneur Markku "Make" Korhonen got the idea to build a medieval castle, drew his thoughts on a small piece of graph paper and put the paper on his pocket. The construction began in 2002 and is still ongoing. The castle is named after the lady of the house, Liisa.
The Liisanlinna adventure park was launched in 2016. The park organises medieval themed adventures and experiences suitable for groups of all ages, friends or families.
New-built wooden castle called Liisanlinna (Liisa's castle) offers outdoor castle adventure. Visit the Liisanlinna castle teaches you also about the history of Finland and includes a playful castle conquest activity in the labyrinth-like wooden castle.
