This bicycle tour has a total distance of about 187 km, over six days. The tour starts and ends in Tampere. From there it goes first via Nokia and then northwards via Frantsila and Luomajärvi, before it goes south again from Tevaniemi towards Tampere.
On this round trip you can enjoy many traditional Finnish activities, such as berry picking on a berry farm, wellness treatments including local herbs and sauna sessions or a visit to the birthplace of the famous Finnish noble author F.E. Sillanpää. In addition, participants learn more about the only gold mine in Europe, Haveri.
Cycling from Tampere through the historical, idyllic and scenic Pispala between the world's highest gravel ridge the Pyhäjärvi lake. Cycling towards the city of Nokia through the idyllic Pitkäniemi gardens and a lunch in Nokia, at restaurant Pepper. Also a possibility to visit a local Brewery, Nokian Panimo. From the brewery the journey continues towards Siuro and its majestic rapids. The dinner will be at the legendary Koski-Baari in Siuro and the first overnight stay will be at one of the oldest inhabited places of Pirkanmaa, in Knuutilan Kartano (mansion). At the mansion there will also be a sauna welcoming the travelers.
From Siuro the journey continues towards Mahnala along one of the most scenic roads of Finland. A stop by Mihari beach for a possible swim. A stop by berry farm Yrjölän Marjatila including a tractor ride at the farm, berry picking (and eating!), a lunch with refreshing drinks and local farm-made gelato. A journey towards Töllinmäki, the birth home of the famous Finnish Nobel author F.E. Sillanpää. From Töllinmäki the cycling continues towards the unique Frantsila Wellbeing Centre. At the Centre you can relax and enjoy a variety of natural treatments, massages, herbal and therapeutic peat sauna. Learn about aroma therapeutic essential oils, see our old essential oil distillation room and make your own healing perfume or aftershave. There is an atmosphere of peace and natural living. The meals served are wonderful lacto-vegetarian and are made from mainly organic ingredients. The overnight stay will be at the Wellbeing centre.
A breakfast at the wellbeing centre. Afterwards the journey continues through Kyröskoski town with a stop by Mannanmäki observation tower. A Chance to hear stories about the Finnish civil war related stories historically related to the surrounding area. The cycling continues to the city of Ikaalinen. A possibility to visit Ikaalinen market and local history museum. The journey continues through the old township towards a snack lunch at Toivolansaari Camping. A possibility for a refreshing swim at the same time. After the lunch the road takes us towards Luomajärven Hevoskievari (Luomajärvi Horse Inn). At the Inn there will be a dinner waiting, a hot traditional sauna is ready. The overnight stay will be at the Inn also.
The work day of the trip. Will mostly consists of cycling and will be the longest distance also. A stops by Tevaniemi beach for a possibility to swim and to a local Röyhiö village booth. In the booth, we will have a snack lunch. From the booth the journey continues towards the Haveri Gold Mine along parts consisting for example a scenic and historic Inkula bridge. The day ends in to the Europe's only Gold Mine at Haveri. At Haveri, there will be a guided tour in to the history of the mine, a dinner and an overnight stay.
Easy going cycling experience via traditional Finnish country side. First stop is at Frantsila Kehäkukka which is located in beautiful old area in Hämeenkyrö. The old school building which is build in 1875 offers variety of possibilities to experience vegetarian locally produced food or shop many different herb products. After the lunch the journey continues to art center and hotel Urkin Piilopirtti which is one of a kind experience.
Last day of the journey. After the breakfast the journey continues in Pinsiö country side to Pinsiö art park and to Up and Under artwork by Nancy Holt. Once we have experienced traditional Finnish art the journey will continue towards Pinsiön taimisto where we will enjoy rustic lunch. After the lunch the journey continues towards Tampere.
