Levi is a perfect starting point for activities in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

The nearby Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park and its nature centers are ideal for day trips from Levi - either with organized excursions with local companies or independently by car. The nature centers in Fjäll-Lapland are good starting points for hiking. They also provide information about the nature, history, flora and fauna of the national park.

Nature Attractions

Admire the 100 km long mountain range of picturesque viewpoints along the routes. Most of the lookout paths in the National Park are also easily accessible by car. See the cliffs, gorges, crystal clear lakes and rivers of the National Park and the herb-rich forests along the nature trails. There is a lot to learn on these trips. "Pyhä" means holy in Finnish. Guess how many holy places like "Pyhäjärvi" or "Pyhätunturi" you find in the national park? Typical animals are reindeer, moose, brown bear and otter. Of various bird species, the Siberian Jay is a frequent guest in the whole National Park. A tip for you: During the long summer days and the night without night, Pallas is the best place to take pictures of reindeer and the blooming arctic fell plants in open rocky landscape.

Year-round outdoor experiences

Magic 8 seasons in Finnish Lapland provide unforgettable outdoor experiences. Enjoy walking, hiking, fat biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and many other activities on a well-maintained network of more than 500 km of trails. Take a break in the wilderness cafés along the trails. Our cooperative, sustainable businesses will guide you to the best possible wilderness excursions. They also rent high quality bikes, skis and other equipment.
