The incredible light of the Lappish summers, the bright nights when the sun does not set, and the pure nature are reasons enough to visit Levi in the summer. As the summer comes to an end, it seamlessly blends into the colorful autumn and the Northern Lights season.
For all those who not only want to enjoy the scenic beauty, Levi offers a plenty of opportunities to make the summer or ski holiday varied. Enjoy nature and the unique Lappish wilderness on a canoe trip or bike ride through the fells landscape. Or take a long hike: In the area there are a total of 60 kilometers of hiking trails and in addition many marked routes towards Aakenus and Ylläs

Summer weekly program - varied offer of activities

The versatile program is a rare opportunity, as it takes place every day between June and August, even just for 2 participants. There are also lots of other activities available on request for any day of the week.
Activities can be conveniently booked in advance by 16.00 the day before the desired activity. Most activities start in the center of Levi, some in the surrounding area.

Traditional day in a Finnish summer cabin in the wilderness 

During this excursion you will have the chance to experience first-hand the silence, beauty and importance of the Lappish nature. As well as learn some fascinating new wilderness skills! After a boat ride, we will spend a relaxing day at the wilderness cabin; fishing, picking seasonal berries or mushrooms, collecting fresh natural spring water, making a fire and lunch together. There is even the chance to take a refreshing dip in the lake!
Dates: on Tuesdays, at 09:45 Duration:  about 5 hrs. 

Midnight sun canoe safari 

Admiring the stunning scenery under the midnight sun, we enjoy paddling and forget everything else. It’s only the quiet nature, canoes and us. The route takes us slowly around the lake Sirkkajärvi and Levijärvi. At the end of the trip we enjoy campfire coffee. Suitable for the whole family.
Date: on Wednesdays at 20:00 Duration: about 2 hrs. 

Midnight sun riding trek on Icelandic horses 

A two hour’ Icelandic horse trek during Lapland’s nightless night. The horses are small, cute and charming, yet strong, tough and sure-footed. No previous riding experience is required. Hot beverages and cookies are served during this excursion. Rider’s maximum weight 90-100 kg. Children minimum age 12 years, unless they have previous experience of riding treks. 
Dates: on Wednesdays and Fridays, at 20:45 Duration: about 2 hours. 

Hiking under the midnight sun 

An enjoyable and relaxing hike in the night less night of Levi. This hike is suitable for everyone and will give you the chance to experience the phenomenon of the Midnight Sun which is visible only above the Arctic Circle. The excursion will take place between 21:30 - 00:30, and will include a snack made by the open fire and a toast to the Midnight Sun at Midnight. Don’t forget your sunglasses! 
Dates: on Thursdays and Saturdays, at 21:30 Duration: about 3 hrs.

Week program for northern light season 

The week program for the northern light season is available between end of August and end of November, even just for 2 participants.
Activities can be conveniently booked in advance by 16.00 the day before the desired activity. Most activities start in the center of Levi, some in the surrounding area.

Aurora Icelandic horse trek

Icelandic horses are small, cute and charming, yet strong, tough and sure-footed. This evening hose riding excursion offers a great way to experience Northern lights! No previous experience is required. Rider’s weight limit max. 90-100 kg.  Children age limit 12 years, unless they have previous experience of riding treks. Cookies and warm drinks served on this excursion.
Date: on Mondays and Tuesdays at 18:45 Duration: about 2 hrs. 

Canoeing under the northern lights 

In the gloom of darkness night, we get to enjoy the colour spectrum in the sky and the silence of the nature, while paddling far away from the artificial lights. Inside a Lappish hut, by the warm fire, we’ll enjoy some of Lapland's delicacies and hear stories about Lapland. 
Dates: on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 21.00. Duration: 2-3 hrs.

Aurora hunting

Join us to search for the Aurora Borealis while enjoying an easy walk in some of Lapland’s most breath taking, untouched fell nature. During our trip, we will make a fire with our wilderness guide, where we will enjoy a hot drink and cook sausages over the open fire.
Dates: on Fridays at 22.00 (Sept.), at 20.00 (Oct. and Nov.). Duration: about 4 hrs.
