Kouvola Region in South-Finland

In Kouvola, the urban and the rural live side-by-side. The Kymi River winding through the region provides the local population and tourists with a setting for recreation, serves local forest industry companies and provides a unique landscape. Kouvola is also a well-known railway city. The Allegro train takes tourists and business travellers between Kouvola and St Petersburg in just 2h 20min. The capital of Finland is also near. The journey from Kouvola to Helsinki region takes a little over an hour by train and just under 1½ hours by car or by bus.

In Kouvola, nature offers the best landscape in Southern Finland to enjoy outdoor activities and cottage life all year-round. The region is home to the Repovesi National Park, where you can marvel at the changing landscape after just a short trek into the countryside. In Kouvola you can also find Arboretum Mustila, one of the most significant forest parks in Northern-Europe. Arboretum Mustila is also famous for the blooming rhododendrons.

Kouvola has one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Verla Groundwood and Board Mill, where you can learn about the operations and stories of the old mill. In the summer time, Tykkimäki Amusement Park is a great attraction, both for the young and the young at heart.
