Piteå

Piteå is located in the eastern parts of Swedish Lapland. The city is a place of contrasts, the archipelago, sea, rivers, forests and an amazing countryside. Sweden’s highest water temperatures are often recorded at Pite Havsbad on the “Swedish Riviera” – a nice contrast to winter experiences with the icebreaker a few months earlier.

Arjeplog

Arjeplog is a paradise of snow, ice, water, midnight sun and northern lights on the mountain range to Norway, directly on the Arctic Circle. The landscape with its almost 9,000 lakes, looks more like an archipelago and offers outdoor activities of all kinds. Both Sámi culture and the high-tech car industry characterize the modern Arjeplog.

Destination Svalbard / Visit Svalbard

The archipelago located at 78˚ North offers genuine Arctic adventures and an eldorado of nature-based experiences – all year round. The landscape is dominated by tundra, bare mountains, glaciers, extreme light variations and an exciting animal life that would be hard to match anywhere on earth. The seasonal variations this far north are enormous – from a long, dark season, bright winter months and surprisingly mild summer with sun in July.

Visit Svalbard AS is the official tourism board for Svalbard and Longyearbyen. The member based organisation is a neutral development and coordinating organ of the local tourism industry with responsibility for the tourist information centre, and the official travel portal for Svalbard.
