Discover Arctic Europe from home

Join us in Arctic Europe for a digital trip in northern Sweden and the coast of northern Norway. Here you will get an inside into the nature and the culture of this Arctic region and get to explore the original Tree Hotel in Boden, Harads.

The Arctic luxury of staying in your own cabin in the nature gives your clients a taste of silence with just the sound of nature. The trip continues to Norway and first stop is Senja, the second largest island. We get to go to Harstad and the trip ends in Vesterålen where you can see whales all year

Online experiences for tour operators

The digital fam trip is a webinar in which a region or company presents its activities and services virtually via authentic, pre-produced videos. On October 20, you will have the opportunity to meet providers from Skellefteå, Boden/Harads and Arjeplog in Sweden as well as Harstad, Senja and Vesterålen in Norway.

The digital fam trip is aimed at international tour operators. Participation is free of charge. To participate you only have to fill out the form below. Registration is possible until August 11. The previous trips were all fully booked after a few days, so if you are interested you should register as soon as possible. The link to participate will be sent to you by mail shortly before the digital fam trip takes place.

Destination Arjeplog / ArjeplogLapland

Arjeplog is a wild, welcoming and wonderful place in western Swedish Lapland with mountain ranges, a border to Norway and the Arctic Circle cutting straight through the region. Sweden’s deepest lake, Lake Hornavan, is on display from the moment you arrive. The easily accessible footbridges, crossing the waters of the Arjeplog streams, can be reached with a short walk. The spectacular view from the peak of Galtispouda mountain can be reached by car in just a few minutes.

In the winter, Arjeplog is the international centre for cold climate car testing, and this is evident all year round;the atmosphere is international and there is great hospitality. Regardless of whether you come here to fish for trout in a crystal clear mountain lake, to experience the Sámi culture, to walk new trails or to stay in a cottage surrounded by nature’s splendour, you will meet welcoming people and experience heartwarming hospitality.

Destination Senja / Visit Senja Region

Norway’s second biggest island Senja far above the Arctic Circle is full of contrasts and a destination made for adventures. Often called “Norway in minature” Senja awaits you with impressive sceneries with a mixture of steep mountains, the wide sea and deep fjords. At the ocean side the coast drops 7,800 metres from the mountain peaks to the sea. Between the harsh/ raw landscapes one can find colorful fishing villages, sheltered bays and sandy beaches that remind of the South Sea. The inland is shaped by lakes, forest and mountains whereas the coast that is facing the mainland amazes with lush green nature.

Visit Senja Region is a joint tourism organization for tourism companies, municipalities and organizations in the Senja region. We have interests related to the tourism industry and the profile of the region, specifically in the municipalities of Senja and Dyrøy. Our 40+ partners have a wide range of both activities and accommodation.

Vesterålen is a region and part of a group of islands about 300 km north of the Arctic Circle off the coast of Norway. To the northeast, it is connected to the better-known Lofoten region. Vesterålen offers fantastic nature experiences all year around. Here you'll enjoy beautiful nature with majestic mountains and fjords, white sandy beaches and the ocean close by. Being called the "kingdom of whales" and due to the location close to the continental shelf, Vesterålen is certainly one of the best places to experience whales year-round.

Whalesafari Andenes offers whale-watching tours throughout the year. Our crews are very experienced in searching and approaching whales and we offer a unique whale guarantee, giving a refund to our guests when we fail to find whales on a tour (or a new safari for free). We are located by the port of Andenes, and our centre includes an exhibition about whales besides our reception and offices, a small souvenir shop, and a restaurant/café. Part of the whale safari is the guided tour in the whale exhibition, led by our guides who are for the most part biologists from different countries in Europe. We also offer northern light and snowshoe tours in wintertime, and cooperate with other activity providers on Andøy. We are certified as Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn)
