Discover Arctic Europe from home

Take your time to make a digital journey here in Arctic Europe. Lets explore and start the summer inspiration in Finnish Lapland with a first stop in Ylläs, famous for skiing during the winter season, but how about biking in the summer?

Next stop on the Finnish side will be Muonio and a visit to the Pallas-Yllästunturi national park where the cleanest air in Europe has been measured. Right after that we will head over the border to Northern Norway to visit Lyngen, the island Tromsö and as our last stop before we end todays tour, we will visit Svalbard, well known for its spectacular nature and polarbears.

Online experiences for tour operators

The digital fam trip is a webinar in which a region or company presents its activities and services virtually via authentic, pre-produced videos. On September 2, you will have the opportunity to meet providers from Ylläs and Muonio in Finland as well as Lyngen, Tromsø and Svalbard in Norway.

The digital fam trip is aimed at international tour operators. Participation is free of charge. To participate you only have to fill out the form below. Registration is possible until August 11. The previous trips were all fully booked after a few days, so if you are interested you should register as soon as possible. Destination Muonio

Muonio is surrounded by Finland’s most popular national park: Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Muonio is located at approximately 69 degrees latitude, directly under the Aurora Oval, a ring above the Earth’s Geomagnetic North Pole where the Aurora Borealis can be seen. During the Aurora season, you can witness the northern lights at least every other night.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, Parks & Wildlife Finland

Explore one of the oldest and most popular national parks in Finland in the grandeur of the pristine fells of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park in Lapland. Here the ancient rounded fells, once as tall as mountains, are still massive and dramatic. What they lack in height, they make up for in untamed splendour. In this day-hiking and Nordic skiing paradise, nature still writes the rules. The peace and quiet of the wilderness with the cleanest air and water in the world seduces you with breath-taking 360-degree vistas. It’s a magical place that entices visitors to move at its pace and rhythm. The hustle and bustle of routine life is quickly left behind.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is ideal for day hikes. There are 500 kilometres of marked trails in one of Finland’s oldest and most famous hiking areas during the wondrous nightless night when the sun never sets. Trails are well-marked and there are multiple circle routes to suit different kind of users. Trails are also open for mountain-biking. In winter you can go cross-country skiing on around 500 kilometres of ski tracks. or put on snowshoes and witness the life-changing display of the aurora borealis, the colourful Northern Lights that dance across the fell tops. Throughout the year there are open day trip huts available for rest stops. There are several rental shops, restaurants and shops in close vicinity of the national park.
