Enhanced accessibility to Gotland with vehicle transport options

Visby, the medieval gem of Gotland, has emerged as a favored destination among travelers. Recognizing this trend, Viking Line has announced an expanded schedule of cruises from Helsinki to Visby for the summer of 2025.

Cruise schedule and booking information

Tickets for these exclusive cruises will be available starting December 17. Departures are scheduled from Helsinki’s Katajanokka harbor at 4 p.m., with the ship arriving in Visby the following morning. Passengers will have a full day to explore the city and its surroundings before the return journey, which departs Visby at 1:45 p.m.

Vehicle transport enhances exploration

A notable feature of these cruises is the option for passengers to bring their cars on board. This facilitates in-depth exploration of Gotland's diverse attractions, from the iconic limestone monoliths of Fårö to the historic Lummelunda Cave. Jaakko Ahti, Head of Special Cruises & Cruise Concepts at Viking Line, emphasized the convenience this offers for discovering the island's unique sites.

Visby's medieval charm

Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Visby is celebrated for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including ancient churches, stone walls, and picturesque alleyways. Visitors can explore the town on foot, by bike, or through guided tours organized by Viking Line.

Family-friendly attractions

For families, Gotland offers destinations like Kneippbyn Summerland, home to the original Villa Villekulla from Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking stories. Adjacent to Summerland is Waterland, a waterpark that adds to the island's appeal for younger visitors.

Cruise dates for summer 2025

Viking Line has scheduled five cruises from Helsinki to Visby in June and August 2025, with departures on June 8, June 13, June 15, August 14, and August 21.
