Modernised Express Hotel combines self-service technology with flexible hospitality

The Tallink Express Hotel in Tallinn has reopened following a major renovation project. Located close to Tallinn’s harbour and historic old town, the hotel now operates with a renewed hybrid concept that combines digital self-service solutions with personal hospitality. During the six-month renovation period, both the interior design and service processes were fully updated. Guests can now handle check-in, check-out and room access independently through contactless solutions, while staff remain available around the clock for assistance.

A growing trend toward flexible hospitality

With the new concept, Tallink responds to changing traveller expectations, especially the demand for flexibility, efficiency and more personalised travel experiences. At the same time, the hotel aims to keep its room rates affordable through smart operational solutions.

The property offers several self-service amenities, including snack and coffee machines, luggage storage, laundry facilities and a gaming area. The hotel restaurant, Tempo Resto, has also been renovated and serves breakfast, weekday lunch buffets and group events.

Tallinn continues to strengthen its city break appeal

For the travel trade, the reopening reflects a broader trend in Nordic and Baltic hospitality, where hybrid hotel concepts are becoming increasingly common in high-traffic urban and port destinations. The Tallink Express Hotel offers 165 rooms, including family rooms, accessible rooms and connecting rooms. Guests also have access to selected facilities at the neighbouring Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel.
