SAS has been named both the world’s and Europe’s most punctual airline in Cirium’s April 2026 On-Time Performance report. The airline achieved an on-time arrival rate of 89.53 percent. The result marks the second consecutive month that SAS has topped the global ranking, following its number one position in March.
The achievement comes at a time when airlines across the industry continue to face operational challenges and international disruptions. In this environment, reliability is becoming increasingly important not only for leisure travellers, but also for tour operators, group travel and international connections. According to SAS, the results are linked to improved turnaround processes, more structured operational planning and closer coordination across departments. The airline says it remains focused on delivering stable operations throughout the upcoming summer season.
For the travel industry, reliable flight connections remain particularly important in Nordic tourism, where delays can affect transfers, multi-stop itineraries and winter travel programs across Scandinavia and Lapland. With its latest ranking, SAS further strengthens its position as a reliable carrier in the Nordic market.
