Scandinavian airline SAS has been named “European Airline of the Year 2026” at the Grand Travel Awards, one of the most respected accolades in the Nordic travel industry. The award is based on votes from travel agency professionals and industry representatives.
Established in 1995, the Grand Travel Awards reflect the preferences and assessments of the travel trade. SAS was selected from a competitive shortlist of European airlines, underlining its strong standing within the industry.
The award recognises SAS’ progress over recent years, including improved punctuality, increased customer satisfaction and a clearer focus on service quality and reliability.
Recent initiatives include the return of Business Class, expanded lounge access, the launch of new routes and the upcoming rollout of free high-speed WiFi across the fleet.
