More domestic connections by SAS in Sweden

The Scandinavian airline SAS is set to expand its domestic flight offerings in Sweden. Starting February 4, 2025, a new route will connect Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå with 15 weekly flights. Additionally, SAS will increase the frequency of existing routes, including Stockholm–Luleå, Stockholm–Umeå, and Stockholm–Sundsvall.

New route: Stockholm–Skellefteå

The new connection between Stockholm and Skellefteå aims to improve access to northern Sweden, benefiting both business travelers and tourists. Skellefteå, known for its growing tech industry and tourist attractions, will be better connected to the capital through this route.

Increased frequencies on existing routes

In addition to the new route, SAS plans to increase the number of flights on the Stockholm–Luleå, Stockholm–Umeå, and Stockholm–Sundsvall routes. This move aims to provide greater flexibility for travelers and promote regional mobility.

Boosting regional economies

By expanding its domestic flight offerings, SAS contributes to the economic development of the affected regions. Improved connectivity can attract investments and foster tourism, which in turn creates jobs and strengthens local economies.

Focus on sustainability

AS highlights that the new and expanded connections will be operated with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to minimize the environmental impact. The airline remains committed to reducing its carbon footprint through the use of sustainable aviation fuels and innovative technologies.

With these measures, SAS underscores its dedication to enhancing national connectivity and supporting regional development across Sweden.
