Gotlandsbolaget has officially taken over the Oslo-Copenhagen ferry route, now operating under the new name "Go Nordic Cruiseline". With a fresh design, modernized ships, and a strong focus on high-quality travel experiences, the company is setting new standards for Scandinavian ferry travel.
As of November 1, 2024, Gotlandsbolaget is the sole operator of the Oslo-Copenhagen route. This transition included the acquisition of two vessels and the integration of around 800 employees. The rebranding under "Go Nordic Cruiseline" aims to further establish the route as a leading mini-cruise experience in Scandinavia.
With the takeover, the route has received a complete visual makeover. The ships now feature a distinct aquagreen hull, inspired by the colors of the Skagerrak and Kattegat seas, while the funnels are now red with a white "G", honoring Gotlandsbolaget’s long maritime history.
The first vessel, "Nordic Pearl", recently returned from dry dock with renovated cabins and upgraded public areas. After the ski season in March, the second ship will undergo a similar refurbishment and will relaunch under the name "Nordic Crown".
With "Go Nordic Cruiseline", Gotlandsbolaget aims to position the Oslo-Copenhagen route as an exclusive mini-cruise experience. The service is designed to cater to couples, families, groups of friends, and business travelers, offering high-quality dining, entertainment, and comfortable accommodations..
As part of the route’s transformation, Gotlandsbolaget is also prioritizing eco-friendly innovation. The company is investing in the maritime energy transition, new technologies, and the development of sustainable destinations, ensuring a more environmentally friendly journey in the long term.
With the rebranding to "Go Nordic Cruiseline", the modernization of its ships, and a strong focus on premium mini-cruise experiences, Gotlandsbolaget is redefining the ferry service between Norway and Denmark. The transformation of this route aims not only to enhance the passenger experience but also to establish it as a comfortable and sustainable alternative to air travel. With these changes, the Oslo-Copenhagen route is set to become one of the most exciting ferry experiences in Scandinavia.
