More than 2.35 million passengers travelled with Norwegian and Widerøe

Norwegian Group carried a total of 2.35 million passengers in April 2026. Of these, 2.02 million travelled with Norwegian, while Widerøe carried 336,000 passengers. Alongside steady demand, the group highlighted its strong operational performance. Norwegian achieved a punctuality rate of 90.6 percent, marking its strongest monthly result since 2023. Widerøe also significantly improved its punctuality compared to the same period last year.

Strong summer demand despite market uncertainty

According to Norwegian, demand for summer travel remains robust despite ongoing uncertainty in the aviation sector and rising fuel prices. The airline group has increased capacity ahead of the summer season to meet continued demand across Nordic markets and says it currently has no plans to cancel flights due to fuel costs.

Reliable connectivity remains important for Nordic tourism

Stable flight connections and reliable regional air services continue to play an important role for tourism across Scandinavia and Northern Norway. In particular, the combination of Norwegian’s international network and Widerøe’s regional routes remains essential for many round trips and Nordic travel programs. The latest figures also underline how operational reliability is becoming an increasingly important competitive factor for airlines ahead of the busy summer season.
