Norway will take part in International Green Week 2026 in Berlin with a strong and coordinated presence from its northern regions. Companies from Nordland, Troms and Finnmark will be represented, alongside a delegation from the industry association Hanen. The programme also includes representatives from the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and political leaders participating in the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA).
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Norway’s participation forms part of a long-term strategy to position the country as a leading food nation. The Green Week appearance is also intended to enhance the international reputation of Norwegian products and support the visibility of Norwegian tourism.
In 2023, Innovation Norway commissioned an evaluation of Norway’s involvement in International Green Week. The resulting report, “The Need for a New Menu”, highlights that the event functions primarily as an industry meeting place, focusing on networking, dialogue and strategic positioning rather than on-the-spot product sales.
The study also points to a significant rise in participation costs. Total expenditure increased from NOK 17.1 million in 2023 to NOK 20.2 million in 2024, underlining the growing investment required for international visibility.
International Green Week will take place from 16 to 25 January 2026 in Berlin. Norway’s stand will be located in Hall 8.2, stand number 160.
