The online event was first organised by NordicMarketing in 2021 to provide our clients with an alternative to the ITB tourism fair, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It featured participating tour operators from the DACH and Benelux markets, as well as tourism providers from Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Since then, the online event has been successfully held four times in a row.
The ITB could not take place in its usual form in 2022 either. The second NORDEUROPA event took place again in early February 2022.
The event expanded significantly in its second year. In addition to the DACH and Benelux markets, buyers from the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the USA participated. Tourism providers were not only from Finland, Sweden, and Norway, but also from Iceland and Denmark. The number of participants in the second NORDEUROPA event increased by 76% compared to the first year, and the number of meetings held rose by 56%.
The third NORDEUROPA took place in February 2023, with Estonian tourism providers participating for the first time. A total of 260 participants from 19 different countries attended the event in 2023. In total, 1,278 meetings were held!
The fourth NORDEUROPA event took place from 31st January to 1st February 2024 and welcomed providers from Lithuania and Greenland for the first time. A total of 261 participants from 23 different countries attended, and an impressive 1,516 meetings were held!
We are pleased to receive positive feedback from tour operators about our online event. Praise was particularly given for the seamless participation and the fact that no time-consuming travel to the event was required.
In addition, the video conference and matchmaking platform we use, Converve, has proven to be incredibly user-friendly. That’s why this year we decided to integrate Converve into our own NordicCommunity platform. The NordicCommunity platform allows tour operators and tourism providers to create a profile that they can use for all NordicMarketing events – year-round and without the need to re-enter data. However, there’s one important detail to note for NORDEUROPA 2025: While registration is possible through the Community platform, matchmaking and meetings will ultimately take place on the event platform, as it is physically separate from the Community platform. So, if you have a Community profile, simply log in there and click through to the event platform via the “Events” section.
